Linktrees
TechIf I've not made it clear, I'm not a typical social media fan or user. While I have sock puppet accounts on each of the main platforms, I don't actually have accounts for personal use.
So, the question is presented as to whether I need a linktree or not. Generally speaking, they're ideal for those trying to bolster their social media presence so, I typically see links back to YouTube and Twitch channels for streamers. In nearly every case, I'll see listings for Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, X (Twitter), or plenty of others. Again, I'm neither on those platforms nor do I care about promoting them.
So, do I need one?
Ultimately, the answer is "no". With
that said, I do have a few outlets that I don't mind people being
directed to such as my Mastodon accounts, preferred Discord gaming
communities, or even this blog. I might also have some other projects
down the road that I want to share with others (ie. my public,
self-hosted SearXNG search engine; CoopSearch).
In addition, there are some clean, self-hosted options for linktrees
like LinkStack that I already have
setup but, don't have populated with any content, yet. Keep an eye out
as I'll probably post about it, once setup (if I decide to take that
route).
